Restaurant with a great terrace butt unfortunately a very limited, over priced menu. We had the antipasti mixed plate, the risotto with clams (which were full of sand), the mushroom and carrot pasta dish and the cheese ravioli. All were rather average and pricey 16-22.

On of the best open air places with a view in Milan. But the atmosphere is too cold and food not inspirational.

I decide to continue to write my advise in english to help turist to find out good places. This Restaurant bar is at the 4th floor of the embassy in front of a very nice public garden in the centre of Milan. Isuggest very much the happy hour (aperitif from 19.30 till 22.00) in the terrace. There are plenty of couch and tables and is the perfect place to have some timedrinking something and eating some finger food. The resturant on the other side seems to me a bit minimal… So in the end try the aperitif time on the terrance is really nice!!

Description: La Terrazza di Via Palestro is characterized by the meeting of the highest flavors of Italian cuisine with a breathtaking view of one of the most beautiful areas of the city. Everything is characterized by excellence, design interiors and a terrace that is the pride of the local area where the lounge becomes a cutout relaxing with a drink for a perfect aperitif Milan.
For a dinner with friends or a corporate event gastronomy meets the most demanding and the menu varies according to the arrival of the freshest products on the market, combining all the traditional flavors with a touch of delicious contemporary.
To complete the picture? The Terrace Room, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, accompanied by a small roof garden and able to accommodate small events. The wine selection is counting on a cellar able to offer products of the best Italian wine producers, as well as a fine selection of champagne.
La Terrazza (the Terrace) is beautifully located on the top of the Swiss center building. The interiors are very modern and fleshy. However the best part is the open terrace, from where the restaurant derives its name and from where you can eat al fresco enjoying a nice view over the park. There are not many restaurants in Milan where you might enjoy a nice view, and la Terrazza is by far one of the best. Having said so, the rest of the experience is not in line with the set up. There is nothing seriously wrong with this place, but it seems that the atmosphere is very cold, and you can hardly relax and fully enjoy the place. That makes it more adequate for groups and business events rather than for romantic encounters. Part of blame goes to the service, certainly not unkind, but without the warmness and professionalism that you might expect in a place like this. That is a real pity, because the place is really nice and has a lot of potential. The food is all right and based upon a choice of natural and fresh ingredients. The Italian menu is very balanced and maybe too limited with a few international concessions. However the food is not inspirational. When the meal is over you go away without a strong impression of what you have eaten. In the good seasons dinners are more pleasant than lunches. There is a very nice and trendy aperitif, worth taking advantage of if you go to La Terrazza for dinner. A good quality cost ratio is certainly a positive and should be mentioned.
We went there for dinner and the meal was very delicious. You have a very nice view, but the waiters are very cold, no kind of smile, nothing… I’m missing the italian, friendly and warm athmosphere…
Shared lunch today with business colleagues – white table cloths, quality food and discrete friendly service. Main courses €19-29 followed by the must have “Tiramisu” delicious! I will return.
Our hotel concierge recommended this restaurant for a special birthday dinner. After having a horrible experience at a nearby tourist trap the night before, we were in dire need of an authentic Italian meal. La Terrazza exceeded all of our expectations. It’s located in a random building across from a park and has a beautiful garden terrace with outdoor seating. We were greeted upon arrival, seated immediately, and served a glass of sparkling wine…which was unexpected and a very nice touch. The wait staff was polite, friendly, and accommodating. We weren’t familiar with Italian wines and when we asked for recommendations, we were offered several (moderately priced!) options. The food was excellent …the pasta is all made in house and the desserts were tasty yet light after a very satisfying meal. If you’re looking for a change of scenery in the city, this is a great spot!
We tried to get there on Friday, but they had private party for that night, but then we reserved table for Saturday, which was also already partly booked. When we went there, mthey remembered our name, maybe exotic Finnish name 🙂 . The staff was in very good mood, joking with our yougsters and even welcome prosecco to start with. Food… More
Overpriced and snooty, and not really very good food. I’ll give it 2 stars because they tried to be quick and sat me outdoors. The views are great and the atmosphere is good. The service was very bad, the server tried to tell me to get a 50€ steak when I kept just asking for a simple salad. The salad and a water were 30€ total. Ridiculous! If you’re hungry, do NOT go here! Because to eat a normal-sized meal here would probably be minimum of 60€, if you want an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Crazy!
