A lunch that was brilliant without making a hole in the wallet. The menu for 36 Euro including starter – main and dessert is really worth the price. The asparagus soup with smoked salmon succeeded in having both the asparagus taste and the salmon taste…More

A short walk from Le Jardin du Luxembourg. Excellent food and patient, polite service. Very small, but we were early for the evening so even without reservations, we were seated. The place filled up quickly and our server kept up admirably. On our last night in town, this was a great place to enjoy the food and atmosphere of Paris.

They speak English. Dress code is casual, you can go in jeans, no problem. Or you can wear a shirt, that also works 😉

We stopped by the restaurant and made reservations and then called to change them to a different night, with no problems. I would call.

On our last night in Paris, my family and I decided to eat at La Maison du Jardin. The restaurant was very sophisticated, small, and had a great, local French ambiance. The front door leads you straight into the seating area where there are small tables arranged very close together. The place was packed with French locals talking away, enjoying their dinner. There were several menus around the room that were all handwritten in chalk (in French), which also added to the atmosphere. Before even trying the food, I really liked this place because it actually made me feel like a local going out for a nice dinner in a quiet part of the city, especially when we walked down quiet, lamp-lit cobblestone roads to get to the restaurant (it was cool to not see any tourists). On top of the great ambiance of the restaurant, our waiter was very friendly and the food was one of the top contenders for the best food I had in Paris on my vacation. I can’t recall what my dish was called, but I know that it was very tender, succulent chicken with some sort of citrus sauce on it accompanied by amazing rice and a salad. My meal was so good that I found myself eating it fairly slowly to try to enjoy every bit of it before it was gone. Overall, I had a great experience at this restaurant and and would highly recommend it!

I love food. I’ve eaten a lot of food. I’ve eaten all sorts of food. But my dinner at La Maison du Jardin was one of the BEST meals I have ever had. It’s been 3 days and I still salivate thinking about it. Husband and I went on the recommendation of a friend of mine and boy were we impressed! It’s on a quiet stretch last the Luxembourg Jardin and it’s not a huge space so make reservations for dinner if you can. It was easy over email a week in advance and they knew who I was when we walked in. We both ordered the house special. A lamb stew encased in puff pastry sitting on a bed of thin grilled eggplant. *excuse moi while I wipe the drool off my face* The lamb was tender and juicy and flavorful, the puff pastry adding a nice crunchy texture to the soft meat. The eggplant was prepared in such a way that it complimented the savoriness of the meat. Unlike most lamb this was not gamy in the least. It was very subtle and almost shredded. We had a salmon tartare for the starter and finished with the poached pear with chocolate ganache. Everything was simple and elegant and one of the most amazing meals we have had. They had other dishes that looked glorious but if you go, I can’t recommend the lamb special enough! Service was friendly and fast and our waitress was lovely and spoke English well so we didn’t have to awkwardly butcher our order in French.

When we entered the Jardin we realized that we had been there during our last visit to Paris six years ago. It was just as delicious and pleasant as it was then. As other people have mentioned we had the three course prix fix meal…More

Our last night of dining in Paris turned out to be one of the best thanks to La Maison du Jardin. We had originally sought reservations at another establishment only to discover that that place was no longer open for business. After consulting Yelp, we chose La Maison du Jardin because of all the high star ratings. What a fantastic discovery! On stepping inside we were immediately struck by the tasteful, simple elegance of the interior, its quiet ambiance and soft lighting. Our waiter, too, was an absolute treasure. He presented just about the most professional, attentive and personable service we’d experienced during our entire two week stay in Paris. This is saying a lot as we had exceptionally friendly service in absolutely every restaurant that we dined. (In fact, we have never once experienced anything in France that could even remotely be construed as “rude”. I have never understood this myth that the French are not friendly to Americans. If anything, I suspect it’s the reverse.) Our reservation was at 7:30 and we were one of only three tables present. This concerned me for only a minute because by 8pm the restaurant was filled to capacity with customers, many of whom were locals. That, to me, is always a reassuring sign. For entrées we began with a fabulous chilled gazpacho, accompanied by croutons with fresh chèvre and herbs; arugula salad with warm poached egg and Parmesan crisps; and tuna carpaccio with croutons and black olive tapenade. The dressing on the extremely fresh arugula was subtle and delicious, but the tuna was truly exceptional. Our main courses were lamb with thyme stew, cooked for seven hours and serve in a puff pastry bowl atop thinly sliced and roasted eggplant. This was one of the most delicious tasting stews I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Every bite was a savory ambrosia. The other main course was beef cheeks in a burgundy wine sauce that was so rich and delicious it’s hard describe it in words. It was accompanied by a small casserole of white beans, fava beans, carrots, onion, and bits of ham in an equally rich and savory sauce. We lingered over every forkful of both, and cleaned our plates of every drop of sauce. We paired the mains with an exquisite, full bodied burgundy red. The meal ended with red berry profiteroles and vanilla ice cream and a plate of assorted chocolate delights that included mousse, flourless cake, and ice cream. All unbelievably delicious. We left our table around 10pm, after engaging in a friendly conversation with our neighboring table about the joys and delights of Paris, and of this wonderful restaurant, La Maison du Jardin!

Great service. Mouth watering, pallet pleasing dishes. Would return again in a heartbeat.

We were in Paris the first week in February. Our American friend who owns an apartment nearby, suggested we try this place, and our hotel also made the suggestion. My husband and I have had the privilege of being in a business that takes us all over the world, and have eaten in many different types of restaurants. La Maison aux Jardins, was a darling neighborhood restaurant, where the food was excellent and the ambience typically French. The service was friendly and prompt; never did we feel rushed. The prices were extremely reasonable. Cannot wait to return next year!

As an American food snob visiting Paris for the first time, I had day after day of just really crappy and expensive french food. While having wine at a tapas bar, I expressed my frustration to one of the chefs there (Christopher). Christopher suggested that I try La Maison du Jardin and highly recommended them. He also mentioned that this is the restaurant where he first learned how to cook and that they do an fantastic job on traditional french food. Well, I took the advice of a native and I am so thankful for it! The food here is absolutely divine. My fiance and I both ordered a glass of red wine (amazing). I started with the foie gras and he had the split pea soup. I have no idea what special ingredient they’re putting in the soup, but it was so smooth and flavorful. Hands down, best split pea soup we’ve ever had. We both ordered the braised lamb entree and it was to die for. The lamb was stuffed in a very thin pastry puff and surrounded with thinly sliced eggplant dressed in balsamic. So many different flavors and such a good balance with different textures. We finished with dessert, which was presented beautifully. By now, we were pretty stuffed and my fiance found that his dessert was too sweet for his liking. The meal came out to be just under 100 euros, which is a bit high, but we have no regrets. This was our best meal in Paris, and we were sad to have to fly home the next day.

Our last night in Paris and the best meal we’ve had! Loved the tuna appetizer. Loved the lamb in phyllo and the sea bass entrees. Great mashed potatoes. Also enjoyed the apricot creme brulee. The prix fix is reasonably priced for such a good quality meal. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in Paris.

We had the three course dinner last night and we all five loved it. I picked it based on TA reviews, not disappointed. Small, cozy place with very good food and professional and nice staff!

This place was recommend by the owner of an apartment we rented for a week in Paris. It is a local restaurant far from the tourist crowds on St Germain. Authentic French food at a good locals price at this higher end place.

Excellent meal and staff. A steal for price point. Wines a bargain. Good suggestions from the Somm. Elegant clean looking little restaurant. Lots of locals. Air conditioned. I had the plat du jour Veal Cheeks, starter chilled tomato soup and dessert. Two bottles of wine and 3 course dinner for Four was 180 euros out the door. Also for several euros you can “up charge” and change out the prix fix choices. I tasted my guests seafood and it was perfect, so the chef was accomplished whether you are in the mood for meat or seafood. We are in Paris for 3 months so this is a great repeat place for us.

We visited La Maison du Jardin on our third night in Paris. We finally found that small, quaint Parisian restaurant. La Maison du Jardin was down a quiet side street right near our hotel. I’ll start with the best parts. The attentiveness of the servers was excellent. When he dropped off our food, he would say something pithy like “You have chosen wisely” or “You deserve this.” The decor and ambience was great. We were in a little corner in the back of the restaurant, and the walls were lined with classic scenes from Parisian life. The food was generally very good. I felt like I was eating over at someone’s house. The main courses were very good. Not necessarily gourmet but rather like down home comfort food. I had a lamb dish in a pastry, and my wife had the sea bass, both of which were very good. For dessert, mine was great, but my wife ordered a dish with a pastry that was burnt and not quite edible. I would have given the place 4-stars except for 1 thing. I can’t believe that I am saying this about a Parisian restaurant, but the service was way too fast to the point where we felt rushed. We had barely finished our salads when the meals arrived. The dessert and coffee was brought very quickly. We had 2 full glasses of wine waiting for us to finish at the end of the meal because, quite honestly, we couldn’t drink fast enough. I would definitely visit La Maison du Jardin on my next trip…but I will linger between courses.

This used to be a good restaurant. No longer true. Food mediocre & service horrible. I ordered a decent bottle of wine. They opened it & put it on the table & walked away. No pour, no taste. Avoid this place. The also converted euros to dollars ( without asking me ) at a ripoff rate.

One of the best meals I have had in Paris. I had flank steak, others at the table had lamb and veal. The prices are for 2or 3 courses. We had been at a wine tasting so we all opted for 2 courses. I went for my first course of avocado with lobster and the others went for dessert, creme brulee and floating island, which was meringue with accompanying creme anglaise. Everyone pronounced everything as magnificent. It was easy to communicate in English as well. Don’t miss this small restaurant, I assume reservations are a must as it is very small.

In a quiet part of St. Germain de Pres, the food was excellent. I had the ravioli with Chevre and their special lamb dish. They were delicious with sophisticated seasoning and light sauce. Beautiful presentation as well.

Cozy, homey place with good service and delicious food. I oit an entree and a Plat and my husband got a Plat and a dessert. Perfect! My entree was the prawn Avocado dish, which was so good I was sad to have shared it with my man! Seriously, I wish I could have just ordered 2 or 3 of these as my meal… Next time I will! I had a whitefish plat which was really delicious, and my husband was very happy with the cod dish he got. Dessert we chose an apricot creme brulee. Our wait or was very sweet, too.

The foods were delicious, from starter, plate to desert. We really enjoyed their food. It’s 2 blocks from Luxenburg park, and service was pretty good. The only thing made me confused was about the price. It said lunch starter+ plate is 22, but they charged me 29 instead, and I was confused, but I did not ask since I was pretty satisfied from my food and service. However, please check with price before you order. I wonder if it’s because I am from USA so they assume higher price on American. Highly recommend people to come and make reservation before you come, because it’s a small restaurant
