Just back from three days here. Firstly the hotels website describes the hotel better than me and is accurate, so worth a read. The hotel is set above Sorrento and has lovely views across the bay of naples. The rooms are very large, we had a sea view room with a balcony. Rooms have a kitchenette as well. The hotel does have a number of steep steps to get to rooms so beware or book one of the upper rooms. Hotel has a pool, although we were out mostly so never used it. Hotel also offers parking which is great in Italy. Free shuttle bus down into Sorrento town which runs hourly. We had breakfast which was typical Italian full of sweet stuff. The staff were great and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. In my opinion a few touches would change this to a 4* hotel.

Each has at least one flat-screen TV with cable, as well as an air-conditioning unit (uncommon for the area). Bathrooms, which come with hairdryers and basic toiletries, are small and have tiny showers ,though that’s typical in southern Italy. Although each room has a furnished balcony or patio (and planters of basil), it’s worth upgrading to those with sea views that have lovely large furnished terraces looking out over the bay. It’s worth mentioning that some rooms have steep flights of stairs to get up to the rooms, and those in the middle part of the hotel are the most convenient to reach all the property’s amenities.

Located in the hills of Sorrento with a superb view over Sorrento and the Bay of Naples. Very helpful staff. The room was clean and had a nice terrace. Breakfast was nice. Free shuttle bus down to Sorrento. Recommended.

Ideally situated for exploring both the Bay of Naples area and Amalfi Coast

On the other side of the peninsula and up the coast, Pompeii is just an hour by car from the property — however, going by transit will mean going across the Bay of Naples and then backtracking along the coast for an almost three-hour journey. Guests wanting to explore Naples’ dining and cultural attractions — or head to the airport — can take in views of the bay during an hour-and-15-minute drive or take a ferry across the bay (two-plus hours).

Pros Widespread sweeping views over the Bay of Naples  Ideally situated for exploring Bay of Naples area and Amalfi Coast Contemporary rooms are spacious and have furnished balconies or patios Apartment-style rooms offer separate living areas and kitchenettes Pretty outdoor pool with water views and loungers Breakfast is simple but tasty, with fresh bread and pastries Free parking is available for guests with cars Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property Cons Not a ton in the immediate area Bathrooms and showers are small with basic toiletries Access to some rooms requires navigating steep stairs  Bottom Line

Looking every bit the epitome of a charming, small Italian hotel, the Le Terrazze is built into the hills that overlook the stunning Bay of Naples, offering sweeping views from its rooftop pool, breakfast terrace, and 24 apartment-style rooms. Its location is a bit isolated from a nearby village and the main town of Sorrento, but it makes a great base for couples or friends looking to explore either the bay area or the Amalfi Coast (a car, however, is very much recommended). The hotel is outfitted in blue and white furnishings typical of the Mediterranean, and decor is far more modern than most in the region. All rooms come with kitchenettes, sitting and dining areas, and balconies — though these aren’t very private. Travelers may prefer the Grand Hotel De La Ville, which has more amenities but dated rooms.

This hotel is a great choice if you want to be away from the tourist crowds of sorrento yet still be very near. The rooms are big and spacious, we had a terrace as well with the most beautiful views.the room was serviced and cleaned by housekeeping every day.The hotel is located high up on the hills so you get the most incredible views over the bay of naples especially from the rooftop terrace where they serve breakfast in the morning.Breakfast was good, plentiful and with a wide variety of savoury and sweet stuff, fruits, pastries, breads etc…The hotel has a free shuttle to sorrento from 7am til 23 00.The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, they ll go above and beyond to help , give recomendations and make your stay perfect.I would defineatly stay here again when i next visit sorrento

Given its relatively isolated location and romantic vistas, Le Terrazze is best for couples or friends looking for a base to explore from, as families with children might want to stay a bit closer to the center of the action in Sorrento. The Michelangelo Hotel, also a three-pearl property, is about as central as one can get.

Breakfast is served alongside wonderful views from the partly shaded rooftop terrace abutting the lobby (indoor dining is available, too). Fare is simple but tasty, and includes the usual continental spread plus fresh pastries and bread. The highlight here is the rooftop swimming pool with an adjacent solarium and a bar for drinks and snacks; it’s surrounded by loungers and has views of the bay, but it can get a bit crowded during peak season since it’s on the small side. Tucked away near reception is another small bar for coffees and spritzes. The hotel offers free parking for those renting a car, which is the most convenient way to go for those brave enough to drive Italian roads. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Picturesque hotel with modern decor in Mediterranean blues and whites

The spacious apartment-style rooms draw in the color of the oceans with bright dashes of cobalt and turquoise against white walls and light-wood floors. The look is far more modern than most in the area, yet still homey thanks to colored kitchen backsplash, bright artwork, and feminine-looking wooden chairs next to tables topped with patterned cloth. Rooms are cleaned daily and they’re well-equipped with ample wardrobe space and kitchenettes with stovetop, mini-fridge, and the necessary cookware. Units range from studios for singles or couples to a standard apartment with bunk beds and two-bedroom lofts. Couples take note: The double beds are actually two single beds joined together.

While most hotel in the region are charmingly dated with old-fashioned decor, the Hotel Residence Le Terrazze offers a departure with its contemporary furnishings in a Mediterranean color palette of blue, white, and teal. The lobby is located off the rooftop terrace with large windows overlooking the bay, and outfitted with breezy light-wood floors, white-wood furniture, and pops of teal in the cushions, striped accent wall, and mosaic-tiled front desk. The outdoor pool and rooms continue the contemporary, attractive design with various shades of blue. The rest of the property is more classically design with brick window cutouts, wrought-iron railings, and red-tile roofs. Flowers and herbs give the air a wonderful scent, particularly during the late spring and summer, while the bay views are excellent year-round.

A rooftop pool and breakfast terrace make the most of the incredible views.

Breathtaking panoramic views, great selection for breakfast, clean rooms. Our room was 25: lots of steps to get to room. Next door there is a place to get some lunch and drinks. Free bus to town every hour on the hour.

Located just off a main road, Le Terrazze looks out across Sorrento and the Bay of Naples. It’s actually closest to the village of Priora, tucked into the hills and a 15-minute walk away. Sorrento proper, which houses most of the dining options, is a 15-minute drive or 17-minute bus ride away — conveniently, the bus stop is just outside the hotel door, and the property offers a shuttle to town from early until late. There’s also a restaurant next door, though otherwise options are limited. The hotel is ideal for exploring either Naples or the Amalfi Coast: it’s just 36 minutes to the Amalfi town of Positano, an hour to Amalfi, and an hour and 20 minutes to Ravello.

Gorgeous views from the terraces over Sorrento and the bay of Naples. Hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. There is a free hourly bus shuttle to the center of Sorrento in the mornings and afternoons. There is a nice size swimming pool with a small bar and snacks. We will definitely return.

We stayed for three nights, the main intention to visit the 5 sites of Pompeii (which we did!). There is a free bus down to the Sorrento town proper regularly, as other reviews have mentioned, which was very useful. Sorrento is gorgeous, and the hotel is well situated, with beautiful views from room windows and terraces. We visited in April 2015, and the pool was closed at that time; no problem, since it wasn’t really warm enough for swimming, the air had a little chill in it!Staff are friendly and helpful, very cheerful, and breakfast was superb – usual continental, various breads, meats, cheeses, and cereals. The view from the breakfast room down over Sorrento is gorgeous. The hotel room was clean, and bright. When we went, the hotel was lovely and relaxed. Quiet, peaceful. What you’d expect around that time of year, I suppose, but it really was lovely. I’d choose it again if I revisited.
